More
The Castle of Lorca is the hallmark of the city, symbol of power and the incessant struggle between the Nasrid kingdom of Granada and the Crown of Castile. The castle-fortress is a place where history is lived first hand through exhibitions, workshops for the whole family, guided tours and extraordinary activities throughout the year. In this space, Ben Sakar (the Hawk's Son), the virtual mascot of the castle will show you scenarios as emblematic as the walls, the stables, the cisterns, the Tower of the Spur, the Tower Alfonsina or the Jewish Synagogue.

The castle takes about an hour to walk around and an audio guide on your own language is included in the price (6 Euros each). We walked around in 40 degree heat so it was very hot up on the hill. But it’s definitely worth...More

Really interesting site helped by use of hand held ear pieces in English. History of local area covered really well with good route taking you out of heat of sun. Worth a visit.

An amazing castle and so much has been done to preserve this historic building. The guided section was done in English and really interesting. You get an audio guide to use while wandering the castle. They could have done with more benches in the shade...More

Spent few hours here. Good explanation of where to go with map, audio guide was easy to use and informative. At cafe we sat out and had 2 drinks and 2 beautiful tapas, anchovies and mixed seafood all for 9euros

Don't feel they have made the most of it but it's worth a visit. The road up there is a bit tight but drivable there is a bus there too.

Worth a visit. Views amazing and very welcoming staff. Parking easily accessible from the car park which is situated a 8min well for the main entrance - up hill. Student discount GIVEN with full I.d. Worth the 30min 40min drive. Would recommend. Enjoy.

It was a pleasant surprise to find the castle did not close midday. For €6 each we felt it was worthwhile for the audio tour. Slightly disappointed that the English dropped out towards the end and we could only get French. All the signs were...More

Yes, the "good dogs" can also visit the castle of Lorca, they should always wear their leash and be watched by their owners.

In the castle there are expositions and towers that have stairs and would not be possible to accede, but the fortress has outdoor paths suitable for wheelchairs. You can visit our website to see some photos of te castle
