It's definitely worth the small 'hike' up to the top of the castle to experience some incredible panoramic views of Begur and the surrounding bays. This is a must do when visiting Begur.

The Begur castle is the highest point in the town and if you visit you must make the walk up there. Fantastic views all points of the compass and the town. The flag flies proudly above the town. Make the trek!

A castle ? The walls and battlements are not at all in the original state. The old tower is just a piece somewhere interesting.

You can walk up to the castle from the centre of town or alternatively drive and park pretty close. Only the castle walls remain at the top but the view of the area is gorgeous.

Not the first time in Begur but now, in Spring, the weather was great for a pretty heavy walk - and it was worth it! Not for the cattle itself, consisting of real ruines, but for the history and especially the breath-taking views!

A lovely slow climb up the renovated streets of Begur all reflecting the history of the Castile and how it was formed. Finally destroyed in the napoleonic wars. A very special ambience walking up to the ruins. Definitely recommend the climb.

As others have said, there isn't a lot at the top of the hill where the castle once stood. The best angle t see the castle is from the base of the hill or from Begur where it dominates. The site itself is clear but...More

The Castell De Begur is only a short walk from the main town area and well worth it for the panoramic views.
