The message of simplicity comes across in this small cabin. Good re-creation of the actual cabin. Easy to get to with clear paths. Even though Thoreau didn't like "worn paths"..

I think Thoreau would have been absolutely horrified to see the masses of people at this beautiful site. The park regularly closes due to overcrowding, and a sign will be posted to come back at 2 (or whenever). When you return, the line of waiting...More

While only a replica, this cabin adequately portrays the minimalist living situation of author Henry David Thoreau as he wrote Walden, a work about living deliberately and freeing oneself from the constraints of society. It was interesting to see visually the exact space Thoreau had...More

this cabin is a replica of the original cabin built by Thoreau and is not located in the same spot as the original. I guess if you're going for the whole history lesson, this may be something you'd like to see but not necessarily a...More

It was quite interesting to see how Thoreau lived. It's a tiny house with not much in the way of comforts. At the time, it would certainly have been a peaceful place for contemplation and writing. And, of course, it's very close to Walden Pond.

This Tiny House is actually an amazing time machine. Step into it and sometimes you can even find the MAN himself (or a modern person who offers a pretty decent interpretation of him). It's located at the edge of the parking lot, on your way...More

THoreau's writings take more perspective after seeing this replica cabin. If you are fortunate to be there the day the resident 'Thoreau' is aorund, you are in for a treat!

Fun to see for Thoreau fans, but not as interesting as some other Thoreau exhibits in Concord. Gets the message of "Simplicity, Simplicity, Simplicity" across well!

Nice replica of the house. 2 trap doors one above and one below with a small bed, wood burning stove and desk. Very small. across the street from the pond.
