The 700 Years tour provides you with an overall historical view of the Ancestral Puebloans architectural, horticultural, cultural, and religious dimensions of their lives in the Southwest. You will be taken through a chronological journey starting with the earliest recorded Pithouse villages (600A.D.) in history to the classic Pueblo era of cliff dwellings dated from the 13th century. Cliff Palace, the largest of cliff dwellings in Mesa Verde National Park, is viewed as one of the top ten places to visit in a lifetime.

Mesa Verde is an amazing national park located in southern Colorado preserving the history and culture of the ancient Pueblo people. Known for the cliff dwellings visitors can also visit mesa top ruins. There is much to see. We stopped at the visitor's center and since bookings for guided tours were Into mid afternoon the next day and two of... More

This tour was great. We had a local retired history teacher as our guide. He took great pride in showing us the evolution in the pit dwellings and made it very exciting when we finally made it to the more "modern" dwellings. He was able to answer all of our questions and definitely took pride in sharing his knowledge. Very... More

We really enjoyed this tour with Grant and a very helpful driver. We learnt so much more than if we'd done it on our own. As we were in a 25ft RV we were not allowed to visit some of the sites. We would have liked to have visited these on the tour. We learnt about the plants etc that... More

This is a good way to get easy to follow explanations of the rare sights in this park. The optional Balcony House section is fantastic! Lots of ladders, a narrow tunnel to crawl through, but worth it! Our bus guide, Mark, also pointed out several good walking tours in the park.

Our guide, Grant, was exceptional. Having lived in the area his entire life he had vast knowledge of the area. The tour was factual, fun, exciting. The bus and driver were exceptional as well. The park and scenery are awe inspiring. Our tour of balcony house left us in wonder. We would not have gained the understanding of the history of... More

Spent three days in the park. Some areas need tickets for tours. Others are on your own. We camped at Morefield Campground, inside the park. Reservations done online someplace out east. With tents there is only one restroom with one stool and sink per loop. Showers are driving distance, near store and gas station. Some hiking areas are poorly marked.... More

Great tour, had Bill as a tour guide. It was amazing to see how the Indians made dwellings in the cliffs. It is truly a must see if you are in the area. Make sure you have plenty of time. It can be as long or short as you want but it's truly amazing I could have stayed all day... More

Our tour guide, Grant, and driver, Bryan did an amazing job taking 30 guests through the ruins, sights and cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde. This tour is well worth the price and your time. There were several stops, a minimal amount of walking and lots of cold water provided for hydration. But, you should know, if you want to see... More

I generally avoid tours, but I really enjoyed the 700 Year Tour because: 1) The bus was not one of those touring buses (like Grey Line). It could hold up to about 45 people or so, but our bus was only about 80% full. 2) Our tour guide, Ruth, was friendly, cheerful and informative. She encouraged us to drive the... More
