This park is at the edge of down town. It’s not a large park but nice for a little stroll. Lots of graffitti on every available surface and not the cleanest in places. We walked up the path to the church behind the the park.

We visited with family during a surprisingly hot day in October, and it was nice to get away from the dust of the city to the tranquil calm of the park. Unfortunately the church wasn't open, so we were unable to go inside, but we enjoyed our walk around the park and I can only imagine it's even more beautiful in the summer months.

Basically it is a park in the centre of Motril , with very nice gardens, play area for children, little pond. And a nice walk. Only thing is dogs are prohibited which to me is a down side to it especially for people with dogs that enjoy taking them for walks in the park. It also has these metal statue type things that were put in the middle of motril in a plaza by some politicians but got taken out and put in the park.. bit of fun taking photos next to them. The park is a nice place to relax away from the traffic you can take a book to read or just have a nice relaxing walk around.

Motril is not the most interesting city for tourists but it does have a park that is a delight for the eyes. It is just to the side of the beautiful church (Santuaria de nuestra Senora de la cabeza). A walk by the lake, fountain, flowering trees and statues will raise your spirits. Add a visit to the church and likely you will have seen the best of Motril. Add a picture or two of the stunning snow capped mountains above the city, a vist to an outdoor cafe for a glass of wine and Motril will leave a fond memory.
