I visited this place on 2013 and it was amazing but on 2017 it was closed and as I understood it is closed for good. Great shame that this is closed :(

This is a beautiful park but I wish they would close the zoo. It is a bit sad. The animals don't look that well cared for.

I've been here before and stayed in the cabins. It's an excellent place, so different. The food in the cafe is really good too. Cabins are a little uncomfortable but the kids love the 'house on the prairie' feel of it. Pool is really good...More

To get there you need to travel 11.5km along a challenging road with multiple hairpin bends and inclines probably close to 1:6 in steepness at times. If not used to driving on the right you might find it a bit scary. Once there the views...More

I am staying in Spain with friends who were told about the zoo Pena Escrita and they suggested we visit it with them. It was very hard to find. The road is very narrow, very steep and in poor condition, and the signs were faded,...More

This park is high up and secluded after just a short and beautiful, if rather disorientating drive from Almunecar. Despite having come from warmer places the animals seem to love it there. It might help that they don't get many visitors, at least not in...More

Very very out of the ordinary and interesting. After driving a winding road and passing beautiful views, you will reach the entrance of this animal kingdom with a twist. If you like zoos, you will love Peña Escrita!

Hi - I can only say that when we visited at the end of May there was nothing open - no restaurant and no restrooms regards Trevor
