The home of the Atlanta Shakespeare Company, the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse on Peachtree Street has an enchanting history and a prime location in downtown Atlanta. We are a professional theatre with food and drinks available before each performance (and don't forget the apple crisp at intermission!)

Went there on my birthday in August with my husband and 2 sons. We watched "A Midsummer Night's Dream", which was wonderful. The atmosphere is great, and you can watch the play while eating your Shepherd's pie or hot apple cobbler with ice cream. The...More

This is a thoroughly enjoyable evening, whether you know any Shakespeare or not. The venue has a very casual, friendly feel, and the small band of cast/crew perform all the front of house jobs too. If I'm honest, the food wasn't great but that didn't...More

It is such a treat to see Shakespeare at such a high level on a stage like the one in the Globe. The food is not too bad. Tavern style food. Yet one goes for the experience, the plays and quality of the troupe.

The play, "Pericles, Prince of Tyre" is seldom performed, but this Shakespeare Company does it all and what a delight it was! The volunteer hosts and hostesses were terrific, the food was good, and the play was the best. It does get very tight on...More

Perfect for a unique date night! Get there early, all seats are good but the upper seats are tight if you are going to eat. Seats can be uncomfortable for long plays. Great atmosphere, wonderful host and performers. An Atlanta MUST!
