I've been to Shakespeare performances from outdoor venues to the Globe. This was a fun, relaxed environment. Even balcony seats give an intimate feeling of being a fly on the wall. The company obviously enjoy themselves and react to the emotions of the audience. Unpretentious, accessible Shakespeare.

We had a great time here. I'm not generally a huge Shakespeare fan, but this company made Shakespeare interesting and relatable. We saw A Comedy of Errors, which was hilarious with their physical comedy. Everyone did a great job, really giving it their all. The food was so-so, but that's to be expected. I'd go again if I'm ever in... More

I'm a bit of a theater freak (chair the board of an Off-broadway theater, etc.). So I wanted to see the Shakespeare Tavern while I was in Atlanta. I love the idea and the experience -- somewhat original production, food was reasonable, good sightlines, and Shakespeare with all the intimidation removed. The play that evening was Comedy of Errors, one... More

We have been to the Shakespeare Tavern many times and it's always a lot of fun. The staff is friendly, food is good, and the plays are always very well done. We saw Comedy of Errors this time and it was hilarious. The actors make Shakespeare understandable and make the audience feel like they're part of the experience.

This is a fine place for a pre-show meal at the Shakespeare Tavern. Obviously convenient. Food is served cafeteria style, and is fine for what it is. Pub food: Shepherd's pie, Cornish pasty, etc. Reasonably priced.

Excellent production of Macbeth. This playhouse consistently delivers outstanding performances. We attended the matinee on Thursday with lots of extremely well-behaved middle and high school students. We go at least once a year. TIP: Get there early to get front row seats -- seating is flat ex for balconies.

Visitors and residents will enjoy an evening at the Tavern, as close to the Globe as we can get without crossing the "Pond.". The staff, led by founder Jeff Watkins, enthusiastically present the Bard's (and others) works using "original practices" (except there are women on stage). Pub grub is good too. Highly recommend it !!!

This is a very unique theater experience. The food is consistent with an old English Pub and better than I expected. Although this is a dinner theater, you don't have to eat or you can opt for a small plate. Prices are very reasonable as portions and large. I recommend arriving early and enjoy a drink and/or dinner before the... More

I took a group of senior citizens to a matinee of MacBeth and it was fantastic! Th ehouse manager let us in a little early so they were able to get settled before the large groups of school children (who were incredibly well behaved) filed in. We pre-ordered box lunches they were simple but worth the $7.00. The company was... More

I am so glad I found out about this place from TripAdvisor, it is awesome. We attended the Thursday's general admission showing of "Taming of the Shrew" and dinner beforehand and we had a great time. The show was fantastic, acting was inspired, and you could tell the cast enjoyed their craft. The dinner process was arranged well and the... More
