This stunning, porcelain-enameled building was designed by famed architect Richard Meier and is rivaled only by the art inside. Featuring American, European and African art, as well as decorative art and photography, the High Museum boasts a permanent collection of over 11,000 pieces, many of which can be viewed from different levels of the four-story, glass atrium.

My husband and I visited the High Museum for a quick trip to Atlanta. We found the museum inspiring. It was organized in the layout, very clean. It was not crowded so we didn't feel rushed and could enjoy each piece we looked at. It met our expectations, except that I wish there had been more seating among the galleries... More

My wife and I heard about the High many years ago and we finally had a reason to visit Atlanta and took the opportunity to spend an extra day so we could visit the museum. We were happy we did. There is parking around the area, but with an underground parking lot it was very easy to drive in and... More

Signs lead you into a plaza with entrances to several different buildings. Yet there is no sign that points to the museum entrance.I wondered around awhile and finally found it. I mentioned this to the lady at the ticket booth. She said "Yea. We here that a lot". She also said "they are working on it". Working on it? The... More

The High Museum of Art in Atlanta has so much to offer. If you're visiting or a local resident you'll enjoy a day at the High. Parking is easy and it's close to several nice restaurants. Locals should note that the High offers free admissions on certain days - so check the site for promotions beforehand. I've enjoyed coming here... More

I loved the 2 floors of American made furniture, sculptures and art. The other areas with abstract art were very fascinating.

I took an hour this week between business meetings to view some of the new exhibits. My membership lets me spend time with this beautiful art in this spectacular building.

Great exhibits for all ages. Be sure to check out as many exhibits as possible. Keep your entry tickets or passes because security can be a little extra if you try to re-enter certain exhibits.

I really like this museum. I go twice a year. Before you go (or, if not, while you're there) you'll want to download the excellent ArtClix app, which has good information and high quality images of much of the art. Most of the High Museum is American art, which is very fitting. Contemporary art collection as well as exhibits. The... More
