Overview
More
This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

Visited this zoo whilst vacationing from the UK and stopping in Northlake. Reasonable entry fee and takes a good few hours if paced correctly and everything visited. Wide variety of animals and plenty to do for kids to be kept occupied. All in all, it...More

It's great that our city offers a zoo. It's not as big as Chicago's zoo but that's just fine by me. The value of a family membership is great for my family of three as My 8yr old daughter can always enjoy her trip to...More

Our family has been visiting the zoo for more than 17 years with friends, cousins and grandparents. There is something to interest everyone regardless of age. The habitats are very open and viewing is easy. The zoo is laid out in somewhat of a circular...More

Growing up in Atlanta as a child through adulthood and having the opportunity to visit the original zoo on a regular as compared to Zoo Atlanta is a complete phase shift. My parents took me to the zoo so often, thinking that the animals were...More

I love the fact that Zoo Atlanta has committed to building beautiful habitats for their animals, like the new reptile house and predator pavilion, and the kids' fun area is often a highlight of our family trips (the rock wall is my kid's favorite, and...More

This is a good-sized zoo, but not on the level of others. However, they received a large donation recently and are constantly upgrading. The lizard/amphibian area is new and really well done. The pandas, although a big draw, are probably the most boring part! Parking...More

Had time to kill while on a day visit to Atlanta so spur of the moment decided on the zoo. Little has changed in 30 years. Needed a facelift then, still does. Water didn't seem to be working at exhibits with ducks and alligators- dry...More

They are at different times. Today the gorillas are at 1:45. However, on Sept. 4, they're at 2:15 with the orangutans at 2:30. Check the Zoo Atlanta website for the complete schedule on the date you're going.
