This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

We went specifically to see the panda twins. They did not disappoint. All animals were well taken care of. Only issue was that it was field trip day for a lot of schools.

Thank you so much for your recent feedback. We are delighted the pandas didn't disappoint! Even though you've enjoyed your visit we’d like to provide a few helpful hints to make your experience even more enjoyable: May is our busiest month for field trips Mondays and Tuesdays are typically the slowest mornings for field trips, though these days can still... The zoo was extremely clean. The exhibits and enclosures were large and well kept. It took about an hour and a half to walk the zoo. My sister is 9 months pregnant and she was able to exercise with ample shade and plenty of places to sit if need be. My only two complaints, as most attractions the food was... More

Thank you for visiting Zoo Atlanta. We take pride in maintaining a clean and well kept residence for our animals. It's in the works to have better food (cost-wise) as well as more of a variety. More interactive exhibits- yes please expect more in the near future. Maybe after your sister has the baby; you guys can come back and... More

Really great zoo! Small enough to see in a day. Lots of animals and splash pad and petting zoo. Loved seeing all the animals. You can feed a giraffe for $3. Lots of shady areas too! Definitely a must see in Atlanta.

Okay, while Zoo Atlanta is not even a drop in the bucket compared to the San Diego zoo it is still pretty good. Ticket prices aren't too bad and Atlanta has upped its game with the zoo. Several years ago Zoo Atlanta was crap. After Willie B. died people quit going. That has been fixed. Is zoo Atlanta the best?... More

We thank you for review. We have come a long way. Yes, we don't compare to other famously larger zoos; but as long as we can put that sparkle in a child's eyes and make them want to return- we're doing quite well. People do often come back and see the changes since our beloved Willie B passed which is... More

Got lucky with a beautiful spring day to visit Zoo Atlanta. The pandas are really neat. My adult son and I walked around for a couple of hours and saw most of the zoo. It was a lovely visit.

This is a great place for the whole family to learn conservation of our environment and the animals we share this earth with. Beautifully layed out with lots of resting areas and games for kids. There is a splash fountain, climbing wall and tree top trail for kids excitement. Lots of eating areas with healthy food choices too. Fun day.

Zoo Atlanta agrees with you! When you have a environment with majestic animals, learn about conservation, throw a splash pad in as well as Treetop Trail, healthy food, and PLENTY of shaded resting areas- looks like a recipe for a fun day. Please come and visit us again. Thanks for your review. Have a great day. More

Only 4 Zoos in USA have Giant Pandas and Atlanta Zoo has them! The zoo paved pathways wind in and out of enclosures surrounded by large trees and foliage. I was surprised how easy it was to see the entire zoo and animals. Fun for family of all ages with Southern Hospitality staff. The price of admission is very reasonable... More

For being in a large city I definitely expected a better zoo than this. Many of the animals weren't in their environments and there were limited number of animals to see. The zoo also closed at 3 the day we drove up so we only had an hour to look around, which happened to be more than enough time due... More

We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed by your Zoo visit, as this is very different from the feedback we usually receive from our visitors. Not being sure of the date you visited, it’s difficult for us to know why you only spent an hour in the Zoo, as most of our guests tend to take two to three hours... More
