This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

Went there as the last day of New Years roadtrip returning back to Florida Was great to be located in the south side of Atlanta since we were returning to Miami area by car. We went on Jan 1st so it was definitely less crowded The zoo is much smaller than I anticipated but good exhibits with the animals well... More

Reasons for 4 rather than 5 star. 1). The only five star Zoo is San Diego Zoo. 2). The script at the kids show is so funny but weakly executed. A high school drama teacher could volunteer their time and add a ton of value here. Otherwise it was awesome. Gorilla exhibit is really the highlight, expect theme park pricing... More

An average zoo. Our kids are in the teens already so it is not a very exciting place for them anymore. But we still enjoyed the kangaroo and the panda which is a first time for us to see.

We had a blast! My kids 2 and 6 had an amazing time especially seeing the pandas, the lion brothers and more! The zoo is clean and well kept. Worth the money and time!

Lots of animals spread out over the area. Lots of good walking. Animals were very active and it was impressive. Very big children play area.

My wife and I went here for her birthday. 65 degrees in February made for a great day to see the zoo. All but one of the food and drink areas was closed. Maybe because it is Wednesday in February. There were about 10 exhibits that were closed. Winter time is not the best time to see the zoo. Not... More

I went to the zoo with my daughter and our granddaughter after not having been to the zoo for probably 25 years. Needless to say they have upgraded it quite a bit. More animals, better layout, more shade (that will be important in summer) and many other things that can keep your kids entertained when they get bored with looking... More

My daughters and I are huge animal fans! We love going to the zoo. Now I get to enjoy it with my granddaughter! They have a new reptile exhibit. It is amazing! It's also interactive. The food is not as expensive as you would think.

I'm from WI, so the animals at zoos around here a very different than what we saw in Atlanta. There were lots of African and warm climate animals. I loved that all their animals had names, and have been there for quite some time. None of the animals looked mistreated or malnourished. And there were videos in some exhibits that... More
