It was so nice to be so close to these lovely animals and have the chance to hand feed them while walking in the Snow. Laila gave us a lovely talk about Sami culture and her experiences of Reindeer farming together with some funny stories and then provided us with some lovely Soup and beverages.

We had a wonderful time at the Reindeer Farm and got to hangout and feed the reindeers. They were very friendly and amusing (because we didn't really know what to expect). We learned a lot about the Sami Culture and this is a must do if you are in Sortland.

It was a unique experience with Laila at her reindeer farm. Her high energy level, hospitality and pride for the Sami culture are fascinating. She loves life and what she does! Thanks Laila see you in India some day!

I am a local and I had heard about this place, but never visited until recently. It is excellent and you learn about the sami culture and it is a special experince to come close to the raindeer.

We were looking forward to visiting the Reindeer Farm. We were looking forward to seeing the reindeer, but we had also heard that this tour was a way of learning about Sami culture. Unfortunately, on the day that we were due to visit the reindeer escaped, and understandably the tour was cancelled so that they could be rounded up. We... More

This was my second visit to a Sami family on this trip and I have to say this was much more informative and a better reflection of Sami life. It was all about letting us understand the culture which was very interesting.

A lovely visit which explained the history of the Sami people and traditions. Run by a husband and wife team. Not a large area but an opportunity to spend time in a traditional building and to meet the reindeer close up in their enclosure.

Lalia was informative and down to earth, this activity was not tacky or touristy in any way. It was low-key and informal, we felt very welcomed and learned a lot about the Sami culture. From what Lalia described and from what we observed, every interaction with the reindeer is respectful. We were given the opportunity to feed the reindeer which... More

Visited in a small group of 4. Laila, a real character, told us about Sami life and culture in an intelligent, non-judgemental non-proseltyzing way. We also learned about reindeer herding (a large part of Sami existence) and had some time with the reindeer. I had wondered whether this part of the trip would be bit "touristy", but it was friendly,... More
