A must-see place in Malta, interesting to visit. Nice building. Not as big as expected, but there's a big variety of species in there.

Visited in late November so the aquarium wasn't crowded and we could take our time looking at the various exhibits. Not a huge place so I would imagine it could get a bit crowded in the summer. Good assortment of fish and clean tanks. Reptile exhibits also added interest. Would have been useful to have more touch screens as we had to sometimes wait a while to use.

Nice place to visit, we spend around 2 h.
They also have a show when they feed the sharks/fishes in the big tank, with explanation.

We checked into our hotel in Qawra but our room was ready so we walked to the aquarium and spent a couple of hours looking at the fish etc., it was a great place to visit, you learn about Malta and it’s wildlife. It is well run, and clean. Usual gift shop which seemed to be reasonably priced.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit after arriving on the 814 bus from Valletta. Using the Malta Discount card our entry was 12.90 euros. It wasn't too crowded at all during our visit but it was November. We could certainly imagine it would be a cool haven in the summer but more crowded for sure. Over 50 tanks to look at and we found that the smaller ones took more of our attention, well laid out and some fish collections that you could watch for ages. Maybe these tanks made the bigger tanks seem dull in comparison, but then again the bigger the fish the less colourful they are. So maybe big fish don't catch your eye as much to make it memorable. The shark tank was good and the walkthro tunnel was ok, but we have been in bigger/better. That said we still really enjoyed the Aquarium, and the Ice cream that we bought from La Nave the bistro attached to the building. We also bought a photo as well, the shark one is really a good idea, top marks for who selected that backdrop. I don't know if it's unique to Malta but it was the first one we have seen after visiting quite a few over the years

We loved this museum. Filled with beautiful animals and fish. The condition of the museum is impeccable, it is very clean and above all very beautiful. There were people, but it was decent. We were able to admire everything in time. It's to be done in Malta without a doubt!

I am so happy I took the time to visit the Malta National Aquarium. It has many fine tanks immaculately maintained. I would have liked to add the 45euro behind the scenes tour to see their systems. They have a lovely reptile/amphibian area including tag, crested gecko, bearded dragon, asian mudskippers to name a few. They fed the Tagues outside their enclosure for a fun encounter. My interest is cichlids and in my opinion the discus tank in the lobby was worth the admission. Buy online for a discount. Uber from Valleta was 20 euro each way.

Wonderful aquarium with many interesting sea creatures and reptiles. Especially enjoyed the tunnel to walk through. Lots of information to read on the way round. A very pleasant way to spend 1 or 2 hours. Lovely gift shop at the end. What will stay with me was a note on one of the videos which said that once the earth was covered by sea and that there is nothing to stop that happening again…. Nature does not need us but we need nature!….Very true, makes you think.

We enjoyed about 2hrs here, while the aquarium was nice I was underwhelmed and expecting more.
Our UK aquarium are the same size if not bigger. There were some more usual fish and we lovely the jelly fish section.

It was very busy and hard to move around at times.

There's a nice play park outside.

A very well laid out aquarium with some really special features - look out for the rockpool area with realistic wave movement, so clever! And the octopus was MAGICAL. Well worth spending time going around twice - once you get to the end, backtrack and catch areas you might have missed - be careful not to leave too quickly because it's not easy to get back in again (though they allowed me cos I missed the octopus and insisted haha - LOVE octopus xxx)
