This is our first trip to Umbria and as we draw to the close of our vacation we are so fortunate to have included a day with Gusto Wine Tours on our agenda. We love good food and wine and appreciate the small group approach and being introduced to family owned wineries while learning about the history of winemaking in... More

Mark and Giselle Stafford, a British couple who have lived in Umbria for 10 years, run this wine tour, with Giselle the arranger and Mark the tour guide. We spent a full day, 9:30 to 5:30, with Mark and another couple. It's a sharp contrast to a Napa tour that might do tastings at a half-dozen wineries in an afternoon... More

Mark picked me up at the train station, and our small group headed through some stunningly beautiful countryside. If you're worried about the earthquake damage, that is a long way from here. This was just as picturesque as anything you have ever seen in magazines featuring Italy. Mark has a vast knowledge of the grapes and people in Umbria. I... More

Mark was so knowledgeable about the wines and the wine making process...he was patient with us not knowing much. We loved learning about the Sagrantino grapes and how they are unique to this Montefalco area. Our local cuisine lunch and intimate small farm visits and breathtaking views made this tour an extra special experience for us. Mark took excellent care... More

I have to say I'm not a big wine drinker...at least I didn't think I was until our amazing day out with Mark. He was able to explain so much about Umbria and its wine growing culture in a way that was fun and interesting. We experienced wine and tasting in a totally different way....meeting the winemakers (and family), sitting... More

A really worthwhile wine tour. We visited 2 different winemakers, on the half-day tour, in the area on Montefalco and Bevagna, both family-run vineyards who produce mainly Sagrantino wine and Montefalco Rosso. Mark, our guide, collected us where we were staying and drove us around the beautiful countryside to the farms. (Apart from the vineyards, they also cultivate other crops).... More

We have not long returned from a fantastic trip with friends in Umbria. The highlight was a great day out with Mark from Gusto Wine Tours. Having experienced many wine tours previously, the difference here was that the wineries were very much part of the community and Mark was very knowledgeable, working with the Wineries, but with no pressure to... If you like wine this is the tour for you. Today we toured with Mark through the Sangratino region of Montefalco tasting wines and eating cheeses, meats and breads covered with local olive oil. A tasty and filling lunch was also included in the tour. Mark was informative, engaging and entertaining throughout the day. We learned a lot about the... More

My wife and I went on this wine tour with Mark who had arranged a tour around the Monte Falco area. We visited a winery Romanelli who runs a family ecological winery with beautiful scenery. Since my wife and I are very basic when it comes to wine knowledge Mark gave us a good introduction. We went through the wine... More
