Maymont is a 100-acre American estate, an extraordinary gift given to the community by James and Sallie Dooley who lived there from 1893 to 1925. Whether strolling in the gardens, touring the mansion or petting a goat, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

I am not a fan of crowds, but like to be out and about. We arrived at Maymont mid afternoon on a weekday. At the main entrance there is a small aquarium. It's a very quiet area where you can stroll casually about looking at...More

This is a free part near the river and it has educational spots for everyone and also some very neat animals to see.

The grounds are in prestine conditions, however, seeing many of the animals was saddening, they do not have dnough space or any mates. The fox was in prison.

I used to love my home town, now it disgusts me. The only saving grace of Richmond is Maymont. It is beautiful and worth a visit. Be careful getting there, the Boulevard has some questionable people on it.

The gardens of Maymont looked like they were well maintained and we would have liked to have spent more time in them but we arrived too late. I undertook a tour of the house which was very dark and dingy, apart from the magnificent Tiffany...More

Maymont is a beautiful place to visit with family and friends. There is lots to do but the best part for me was to walk around, look and soak in the beauty of it all!

Maymont is an exceptional place to visit. There is plenty to do for all ages. There is a zoo for kids, a beautiful mansion to tour. We did our tour during the Christmas holidays and it was spectacular.

This place is lovely but I now know why so many reviews said things like get lost in the gardens - because everyone was lost! It was a HOT and sunny day and some of the hills are really steep. There were exhausted looking parents...More

I've been visiting care since I was a little girl. And now we bring our kids here. The estate is sprawling and gorgeous. And one of my favorite parts is there's no admission. That means that you can pay what you were able to. This...More

Annuals, and Rose bushes are typically still in full bloom. I would contact Maymont directly to see if they have a more specific answer for you.
