The main attractions are the overlooks Pian Grande, Belvedere North and Belvedere South. In theory one can hike all three in an extended day tour, but we recommend to hike to the first two from the ex campo sportivo in Poggio and to the latter from the parking lot of Badia de San Pedro. In the northern part, don’t miss the Roman quarry on your way up or down. Google maps are helpful as the trails are not uniquely numbered - or pick up info/maps at the park center.

On the Conero Peninsula, we were really looking forward to seeing this amazing coastline. However, it was so windy on the day we arrived here that the best we could do was to get out of the car, walk down to the lookout point, see the beach, the steep cliffs going down to the sea and the little boats all waiting for someone to use them. After the massive storms that Italy has just experienced, the sea was a dirty green brown for some distance out. There was absolutely no one about and the Vittoria Cafe only had a dog in it that was chasing a piece of driftwood. When you drive down to the parking area, take care and watch for cars speeding up the steep hill.

We will return for more time in this gorgeous spot. Well marked trails allow you to explore and work up an appetite for the marvelous regional cooking within easy access.

An unexpected pleasure. Two nights in Sirolo and a visit to loreto and we’re sold. A great area to visit in so many ways... wish we’d known and we would have stayed longer. There’s always next year!

We were introduced to Marche two years ago and just wowed by its beauty and affordability. We went back this year to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and to dig more deeply into it. Parco del Conero, like all of Marche, really is a hidden gem, especially for Americans. Beautiful hiking woods give way to breathtaking vistas. The young guide at tourist information was immensely helpful and enthusiastic.

We had a great five hour hike through well maintained trails. The trails are not that well marked. The trailheads are not that well marked either. But when you find them they are great.
You need to watch for the mountain bikers who travel very fast on the trials open to them.

Hands down one of the best beaches of the Adriatic Coast. Spiaggia delle due sorelle , the little village of Sirolo , PortoNovo are just amazing and suitable for any kind of beach holidays.

We visited Parco del Conero on a Friday in May, there were very few people about which was good. The paths are mostly well signed, although not so much at the very beginning. The official times on signposts etc are exaggerated if you are used to walking - you can nearly halve them even allowing for stops to look around and take photos You need ordinary trainers or walking shoes, There are good views towards the beaches of Sirolo, and of the famous Due sorelle beach. However for us the best part was arriving at the ancient church Badia San Pietro - part of an ancient monastery which has now been turned into a hotel, the church was open so we were able to visit it. Small, simple, perfect, light coloured stone, be sure to visit the little crypt as well, an incredible sense of peace. On the way back we stopped at the hotel bar next to the church - the bar has a really splendid view from the panoramic balcony of the coast towards the south, 2 cappucini and a little cake each for 4 euros altogether. All in all an excellent day if you like nature and peace and quiet.
