In the 1970's on Sundays the Cambridge Common had bands playing, drummers and bottle clankers being their cool, hippie selves, the freaks and geekssin their regalia, and it was really a cool scene. Today it's just a nice park very close to Harvard Square...

The playground is very imaginative and the children seem to love it. The fields are accessible for several groups of children to be playing soccer at once. The fields are drawn out with chalk each day and change depending how many groups are there.

My family and I enjoyed our time here. It is a short walk from the Harvard Campus and museums. As many have mentioned, there is a large and fun playground here that it a great place for families with kids to unwind a bit.

Nice green park area with a large kid’s playground and some statues. I imagine it’s a nice place for a picnic in the summer.

This was a spot on the way back from Harvard Square to our hotel - the Sheraton Commander. It was clean and felt safe, a nice place to sit and rest and watch the people go by. There is a cute little play park for kids a short walk away that was busy with families enjoying the nice weather.

Cambridge has let Common just lie there—and should redesign the land for actual enjoyment of city-dwellers. There’s few seating areas& just lawn. How cool would it be to gave seating areas of interest with some planned landscaped & interesting areas. So far-nothing at all. It’s basically a walk through to get to the square. Too bad. This resource could be terrific.

Lots of green space and masses of squirrels. This is a Harvard hangout with parking around the edge and a road right around it- it’s more of a park than common. Nice place to chill out if you’re visiting the University across the road.

Cambridge Common is a nice little park where you can sit on the benches if empty and people watch from a variety of reasons which is enjoyable.

Great quiet park near Harvard Square. History of the revolution is on every side of you.
Several monuments including one marking where Washington assumed command of the Continental army it can be very relaxing, but not as good as nearby JFK park.
