It's just an in your face take no prisoners waterfall. Large, powerful, beautifully symmetrical. Walking to the top is 374 steps. We counted. Worth it if you can do it.

Skogafoss is another beautiful waterfall which you need to see when visiting Iceland. You will not regret that you stopped here. Fascinating power and amount of water. Nice place to relax and have a break.

This waterfall is so strong, legend has it there's a chest of treasure still stuck underneath it. But who needs the chest of treasure when gazing upon this natural treasure. A must see while in Iceland!

I know I know another waterfall. Just so very pretty and you can still get right up to it. Went with my elderly parents who have a bit of walking issues. Was great stop!

Iceland is the land of waterfalls - on a 9-day trip, we saw over a dozen of them, so I'd encourage you to find ones that offer something unique. Skogafoss has trails that allow you to view it from above, or you can approach the...More

Skogafoss is just off the main coastal road which is full black top so no issues there. We went in Dec 16, just after heavy heavy rain and the track off the main road was fine, we had a Nissan Micra and it coped without any... More
