We arrived Reykjavik Thursday a.m., walked around town as our hotel room wasn't ready yet, then went to the Blue Lagoon (we had reserved for 6 pm, premium package, including a reservation at the restaurant for 8 pm). That was a great way to relax...More

After a 4 hour red eye from Boston I landed in Iceland and this was the first thing I did. I figured it was the best way to wake myself up for the day. I booked the 8AM arrival time comfort package with transfer with...More

If you only have a few hours in Reykavik, be sure to stop by and experience the Blue Lagoon. It felt like we were on the moon with the colors, setting and surrounding lava. Easy to get to, easy and smart way to monitor purchases/access...More

The Blue Lagoon is a huge outdoor geothermal heated spa/pool. It is interesting and was enjoyable, but I am not certain that it was worth the price of admission. Nevertheless, it is still something that you probably will want to experience. It can be a...More

Expensive but worth the trip. We went at 4:00 pm on a Monday and it wasn't too busy in the pool.....the dressing rooms were a different story. I wish they could figure out a different floor plan so everyone is not crowded together. We spent...More

Enjoying this huge natural geothermal-heated 'lagoon' is a great way to soothe sore muscles and meet fellow travellers from around the world. Complete with bar and DIY special facial mud packs. Facilities being expanded but deserving of a visit. Not far from airport.

The blue lagoon has the potential to be nice, but with poor execution. There are many great hot pots and thermal springs around Iceland that were nicer and more relaxing than this for a fraction of the price, or even free. The water here is...More

This is beautiful because of the natural resources. But there are too many people and it gets too crowded. Sadly, it will be expanded so even more people will come. After an hour, you kind of have to leave.

It's curious how one can of the best attractions in Iceland started by chance... the blue lagoon started as a water pool near the geothermal power station in the 1970's, until people started bathing and realizing the minerals' beneficial effect on the skin. Today it's...More
