Love those bells!

The Rees Memorial Carillon is one of Springfield's treasures! It serenades us as we walk in the park and they often have special events that are well attended!

I walked around in Washington Park. I love the sound of the carillon. This reminds me of the carillon at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. When I went to the park, I drove by a golf course and I kept driving by the entrance to the park. I thought the park was part of the golf course. When I... More

The Rees Memorial Carillon in the heart of Washington Park is a pleasant sort of surprise. The bells ring beautiful music for many special occasions, but also on a daily basis. Tours are provided too.

grab your picnic basket or stop by a local Subway for sandwiches and throw your blanket on the ground for a relaxing evening of music and wonderful summer time sky.

Beauty for the eyes and ears! The Park District hosts various events throughout the year. If you are able, do the tour! Park is very pet-friendly.

I love the sound of the Carillon. It's great to sit on a park bench and listen to it. And if you get a chance to take the tour, please do! It's quite unusual, and they might even let you pound one of the notes!

We heard the carillon and went on the tour. It was expensive and cramped, but fun seeing the huge bells and looking out on Springfield and the Capitol.

The festival is a nice way to spend an evening and it's interesting to hear this played for the public. I enjoyed my visit and I'd go back again.

If you are lucky enough to hear the carillon, you are lucky enough! The carillon festival is a great opportunity to hear the sounds of different people from all over the world who are experts in playing! A great family event. Sometimes at lunch we can catch a beautiful song and what a treat! Washington Park is the most beautiful... More
