The museum was very interesting. My dad fought in Korea and this was like rekindling his stories. I could see what my dad described years ago. It isn't talked about much but it is an important piece of US history. And this museum is well worth a great visit. It's out of the way downtown but is near Lincoln's old... More

I came across this little museum while walking around downtown and decided to investigate. The first surprise was that admission was free. While not a large museum, it held quite a bit of information. I can say I learned a lot about the Korean War, although I will admit that my knowledge was limited to what I might have learned... My grandfather was in the Korean War this was a learning experience for me too get to see things that he saw and what he went through and to teach my son devalue the honor of life and respect for what the soldiers gave up.

Did not know much about the war; this was a wonderful refresher and learning experience. Truly a forgotten war!

My husband was in the Army, and stationed on the DMZ in Korea. It brought back a lot of memories for him. They had a full display of the clothes he used to wear, and he was able to show me (on a map), exactly where he was stationed at. Also a lot of great information about Korea (now and... More

As the son of a surviving Korean War veteran, I was shocked (yet very pleased) to see this museum in Springfield, ILL. The staff was very helpful. It was somewhat sparse, but given time I am sure it will fill up. One of the first things I did upon my return was to let my elderly father know that this... More

My father served in Korea 1951-52, he never talked about it much, so it was wonderful to see these exhibits and read the historical info. I loved the library.

Sometimes the Korean War seems to get shortchanged and you may not have learned much about it. Visit this museum to learn more about the heroes and campaigns of the war and see some interesting memorabilia.

Very nice little museum that tells a story about an important piece of history that most Americans know little about. Definitely worth seeing. There are two things I would suggest, however. #1. There is a satellite photo that shows South Korea with all the lights and North Korea completely black. There is an important point to be made here, yet... More
