I live in the area and have taken many visitors of all ages here. There are activities and exhibits for all ages from shows and play areas for young children to detailed exhibits for history enthusiast adults. A must see attraction in Springfield!

We went with our whole family, ages ranging from 7 to 65, and everyone enjoyed themselves. The Ghost in the Library is very patriotic and brought me to tears. The theater has wonderful sound and light effects that make you feel like you are IN the scene. Don't forget to buy a Lincoln hat in the gift shop! It has... More

I went with my daughters class for a field trip (5th grade). The group of kids I was in care of enjoyed it so much, we actually took longer than our schedule allowed, we were so engrossed in reading and looking at everything. The students enjoyed this museum so much!

This is the place to take an amazing look into the life of Lincoln. This museum is broken into 3 parts. Lincolns early life, his presidency, and then an interactive part for kids. If your coming to Springfield for all the Lincoln type stuff this city has to offer, start here! 6year old enjoyed it as much as any museum... More

The museum has very interesting artifacts of Abraham Lincoln and his family. Many of the exhibits are lifelike figures of Lincoln and his contemporaries depicting different events. Also, the photos of Lincoln showed how the Civil War aged him from 1860 to 1865. This is a must-see!

I enjoyed this museum so much the first time I visited that I brought my grandchildren a few months later and am planning a future trip with the whole family. It's small enough to see in a few hours and there's a great room named, Mrs. Lincoln's Attic, that allows children to enjoy some hands on experiences.. The special effects... More

We toured this museum for the first time last week. It literally brought me to tears waking through this experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you care at all about social justice, this will truly make an impact. In this country, in this time, it is especially fitting to recall the efforts and sacrifices that were made by... More
