We saw this museum after visiting the Lincoln Museum & Library so in comparison it is very much old school in its presentation...no high tech. Still the exhibits were spot-on in Illinois early development and history and contained all the information I was looking for.

Sign outside says free, however it is now - $5 for Adults, Children are still free. Outdated and not worth the time since it is no longer free.

We had some extra time so we headed to the museum. Fun local and natural history exhibits. Reasonable entry fee.

The Museum has new hours. 9:00-4:30 Monday through Saturday and Noon to 4:30 on Sunday. The children's Play Museum exhibit is open Tuesday-Saturday 10-4 and 12-4:30 on Sunday.
