This is a cool site to visit and experience Lincoln's final resting place. You can actually enter the mausoleum and take a self guided tour and see the sarcophagus where the Lincoln family is laid. Open 9-5

Only had time to see the tomb. It is a cool cemetary! Wish we had had more time! Posing with and rubbing Lincoln's bronze nose was fun! The tomb was beautiful both inside and out!

Every Tuesday night this summer Civil War era soldiers perform a touching ceremony and present one visitor with a flag. This is performed near the Lincoln Tomb. It lasts about half an hour.

Great experience and wonderful education, especially for older children. You must go into the tomb and hear about the history to really appreciate what it represents. The staff was very helpful and knowledgable.
