Painstakingly rebuilt after being disassembled in the 1960s, this Greek Revival masterpiece saw Lincoln serve as a lawyer and legislator. In 1858, Lincoln delivered his landmark "House Divided" speech in the Capitol's Representatives Hall.

It would be a lot nicer if they had some information on the history and displays. This is an interesting old and historic courthouse. It would be really great if they had docents to tell someone of the history.

We were at the State Capitol four times in two days. We toured the building, then returned for presentations about General Grant, Abe Lincoln, and the Troubadours.

Beautiful building reconstruction. Important to realize it is right across the street from the Lincoln-Herndon law office. Thus, Lincoln just walked across the street to argue cases and positions.

You can visit the building free of charge (donations welcome :) ). Many different rooms to visit, all with historic furniture. When I was there many actors performed 'living history'

I believe they do. You will have to go up a set of stairs to get into the building. Once in, there is an elevator to the second floor.
