We went to a Sunday afternoon performance at The Rose Theater, (as it is more commonly known), with our nearly four year old twin grandchildren. There were no reserved seats for this children's performance, so we entered and chose our seats. There was a sign that pointed out a room where you could go with crying babies, or restless children,... More

They played Mary Poppins there a couple of weeks ago, but we went to see a play called "Grandpa's Mixed Up Luau", that the children put on the play for us, and they did a wonderful job. The place looks like it did so many years ago. When you go into the theater, you feel like you are going back... More

We went to see "A Christmas Story" with our family while visiting here for Christmas. I really didn't know what to expect. The theater itself is worth a trip. It was originally built in the 1920's, very ornate. The production was absolutely fabulous! Some of the actors were students in their theater program. We were all very impressed. At intermission... For all ages really! Their shows are age appropriate length wise, for my daughters first birthday (she is now 24!) we took her and our 5 yr old son to see the play Madeline, she stood on my legs and watched the entire show and afterwards everyone was amazed how she watched the whole thing, she was amazed at all... One of the best experiences in Omaha. The theater building itself is a treasure, a 1920's vaudeville and movie palace. A done up in a Moorish fantasy under a virtual starlit vault. Just seeing the theater alone is worth the visit. Then the play begins. Professional actors, Broadway quality sets and costumes with stories designed to entertain young and old... More

This is a great place to take the kids for live theatre! Many of the productons are based on the books my kids have read so they are already familiar with the story and are excited to go! The season membership is a really good deal and makes going to all of the shows really affordable.
