Like another reviewer has said on here, it looked like the Visitor's Center building was closed. Nevertheless, worth a trip to see (and photograph) the National Register plaque/sign at the back which contains the dedication to Malcolm X. The neighbourhood is apparently something to be...More

I didn't realize there was a memorial plaque behind the building. The day we visited it seemed like a building with no other cars in the parking lot.We thought it was closed.

This site is in its genesis and reading other reviews, I didn't expect anything spectacular. However, please don't just drive by....stop and ring the bell. The actual site marker is behind the building. Mr Walter Brooks, the Administrative Director, gave us a tour about the...More

Was a very nice and unique location. I'm glad I saw the area but I feel like more should be done in the near future.

We toured the information center and learned about the Malcolm X Foundation. You learn about Malcolm X but you also learn about things the foundation is doing to help their community which is pretty impressive. It was a learning experience and worth the time.

Feel like there could have been more to see or do at this site. There was just a sign, and open fields. A nice fountain or trail would have been more visually appealing.

If you are in Omaha, viewing this piece of history is certainly worth your time. Note that the memorial plague is behind the community center and cannot be seen from the road. A member of the foundation that maintains the site was there at the...More
