    Free, informative and worth repeating
This little treasure is housed in the original Boulder dam hotel. It is a self guided tour with a video, tgat takes about 15 minutes and us very informative. Plus there’s a great gift shop, super restaurant, an underground speakeasy, fireplace and hotel rooms.

    January Visit
We loved this tour! Very awaking experience, the pure size of the dam and the tunnels. Started in 1931 and finished in 1936 two years ahead of schedule. The tour was great and learned many things about the dam. Was called Boulder dam then changed to hoover dam. I would recommend this tour. This dam is a part of history. Stan H.

A great "add-on" to you Hoover Dam experience
We went to the museum AFTER being at the Hoover Dam and touring around there... and we still learned lots of things we hadn't learned about at the dam site. This museum really does a nice job of addressing the human/ worker/ community impact of the dam. The displays and videos are informative and well done. There were some hands-on type artifacts (although a few of them were out of order). If you are in Boulder City, or want to add to your Hoover Dam experience, plan to spend a minimum of 30-60 minutes at this museum. This attraction is free, but they do accept donations.

Wonderful and detailed museum outlining the fascinating story of how the hoover dam was built. Worth a visit as it adds to the awe you experience on seeing the actual dam. It is in the old hotel and part of the historic centre. Weill worth visiting and free

This museum is located inside a historic hotel and tells the story of the building of the Hoover Dam. It gives background information which is useful when you visit the actual dam.

We stopped in to use the restroom and found ourselves walking though the entire exhibit. It was late Thursday evening and it was just us and 2 other couples. The entire exhibit was wonderfully done and really showed the hardships the workers went through. Sound - Pictures - Fascinating!

Well worth the visit. Great to see the displays and read the stories about the construction of the dam before visiting it. Definitely recommend making the stop. Nice cafe’s and restaurants around the museum as well. Free entrance through the hotel and ample free parking on the streets around the museum.

Good overview of the huge construction project. Activities for young and old. The movie at the end of the display should be seen first. So go left and see it and then start over.

Located a bit out of the way on the second floor of the hotel but it's a gem. Very informative and thorough display. Recommend visiting this museum before going to Hoover Dam and the visitor center. Focus of this display is on the hearty and courageous people who build the dam.
