Follow the 93 out of Vegas and within twenty minutes from the south end of Boulder Highway, you will pass through Boulder City. Thereafter, follow the cut off for the dam. Most people stop at the first stop - the Memorial Bridge - but If you drive past and go straight to the dam, leaving that bridge for later you... More

We parked the car and spent about 1.5 hours walking around. We did not do the tour, but there are many incredible views from all angles when you walk around the dam. It is truly a marvel. The gift shop was nice as well.

This is a seriously big dam, you can't tell from just photos. When you stand near the ledge and look down you truly understand the size of it. Herbert Hoover got this one right.

Went with family and friends with teenage children and had a very good time. We enjoyed the tour and the staff. Worth the drive and time to do this. We enjoyed the tour within the dam .

We booked this trip along with a lunch boat trip on Lake Mead. We were certainty not disappointed. The dam is simply breathtaking. With our boat trip, we got to see the back side of the dam as well. The new bypass bridge was a sight to see too!

Hoover Dam offers two tours. Our family enjoyed the upgraded tour that takes you deep into dam wall plus areas included in the basic tour. Great guides who are very informative. Friends still rave of the pictures we took from ventilation openings located in the dam. Great experience.

I recommend this as a stop along the way if you are driving from Las Vegas. But if you do not see this, you are not really missing anything. The real sight to see is The Grand Canyon. I still thoroughly enjoyed spending time here, but I will probably not return until I have children of my own to take.

It was Rocky place I guess it was volcanic to igneous type. Presence of a lot fractures affecting the formation; talking about the Hoover Dam area and surrounding outcrops. The dam was a huge one. with a very tough relief where access is not possible, all the honor is for these people who built it.

We had a blast first they picked us up from our hotel and we went to the etzel chocolate factory which was great too! We had the ice cream it was... More
