The Hoover Dam is an Amazing site. Arrive early if you want to do the dam tour. We arrived at 9:30 and the next available tour was at 12:00. So we killed some time by having lunch in the café. The food was good. The...More

When you read about Hoover Dam, it just doesn't convey the impact of actually being there. The tour is informative as long as you can stay close enough to the guide to understand whet he/she is saying. I was there with the senior class so...More

On our way to the Grand Canyon we decided to stop at Hoover Dam for a tour. We decided not to use a guided or bus tour from Vegas, so we could continue to G. Canyon. We arrived early and were able to secure a...More

We just wanted an overview/quick stop, so we didn't do any tours. A few practical suggestions...1. Pull over and park in the free lot that gives access to the bridge walkway. It gives you some history and a great view of the dam. You can...More

A truly impressive feat of architecture. It something to behold. Kids loved checking it out. You have to swing by here, if you are in the area.

I have emailed the Grand Canyon Touring Company with some queries about their H.D. tours, but they havn’t got back to me, so I was wondering whether anyone can help me here? My questions are: - Which tour are we entitled to take with our L.V. Explorer Pass: The premium tour or the mini tour? (It isn’t stated on our Digital Guidebk, it just says “Hoover Dam Tour by G.C. Tours”) - How long does the trip take to the Dam from Bally’s or wherever the tour leaves from? - Are there restrooms on the coach or at the site? Thanks Art

I am not familiar with this company, however, I think the round-trip tour time allowed should be 5-6 hours. There are very decent and clean washroom facilities onsite and some basic food/snack capabilities. It's a very... More

Hi Christine, I think it depends on how much you want to read, photograph and stand and listen to the recorded commentary coming from the overhang on the dam. I would suggest you allow 1 hour. There is also a gift shop... More

No. Hoover Dam is well beyond the RTC service region. Sam is right: a rental car from McCarren Airport is the cheapest way to see Hoover, Boulder City, etc.
