Walking on the island of Aix we were able to visit the very nice shop adjoining the museum. Beautiful jewelry and objects. Very pleasant welcome. Inquiring about the possibility of having a bracelet repaired, we particularly appreciated that Dominique took the time to do this repair on foot despite the crowd in the shop. Thanks again to Dominique and the whole team for their welcome and listening.

As we visited the island (and had time on our hands, to be honest) we decided to visit this place. It has nice shells. Cute place.

It is a museum but also a gift shop- some people may say a gift shop rather than a museum but you can enjoy the visit without buying anything. The museum has some amazing pieces. There is an audio guide to follow the different steps in working with shells and the result is quite extraordinarily when the work is complete. There are very few museums dealing with Nacre/ Mother of Pearl and it is worth a visit.

Nice gift shop. I came there to buy some present for my friend. My daughter was amazed by lots of shells of different types and different sizes. They had some engraved shells as well which is good present for child. The owner, an elderly gentleman, was from this island and he was very talkative and what impressed me he spoke about 5 languages.

Not exactly sure but this place at the far end of the Main Street may purport to be some sort of a museum but is really a shop. It has many beautiful objects made from mother of pearl (nacre) or incorporating it in jewellery or object d'art. Some reasonably priced some unaffordable. Worth at least a few minutes to look around but a warning the displays are quite close together and small hands will find things of interest easy to reach!

Handcrafts work. Some of the things they make are very special and beautiful. Touristique off course but a very nice gift.

If you love sea shells this is where you need to be. Interestingly laid out to explain working with sea shells and with numerous examples of shells and what you can do with them. Little bit on the expensive side if you are not that passionate about the subject matter.

Magnificent discovery that this museum on the island of Aix; a guided discovery route that will make you discover the world of mother-of-pearl and if you have time to exchange with Dominique you will have the chance to share the rich experience of the last pearl of the island.

Bonjour,
