This is definitely something every Alaskan should do/see, and something that would be super fun to take out of state visitors to. It's a good chance to learn about the sport that's been so important to this state.

So much fun holding the Alaskan Husky puppies, petting the other dogs, watching the informative video and going through the small museum. The people were very friendly and the $10 sled ride is a must do! It’s easy to miss the turn-off but worth finding.

Amazing to see the 83 sleds sliding on the 4th street in downtown Anchorage. Fantastic feeling with all the people around. This is the biggest event in winter time in Alaska.

Great opportunity to see the Ceremonial Start in Anchorage on the first Saturday of March and then travel to Willow on Sunday to see the Restart of the Iditarod Race. Both events are family friendly and free.
