We enjoyed a great dining event on the train going south. My understanding is this was a special event but the train ride was a blast. Great windows for views. Beautiful look at the sleeping lady, Mt. Susitna, as we headed south.

The station in Anchorage gets crowded due to popularity. Make sure to try the coffee kiosk - Perks does a great job and it helps with the wait to board. Staff are amazing - kind, happy to be on the job, welcoming. Parking is nearby so if you are taking a day long trip, you will feel safe and comfortable... More

The Railroad Depot in Anchorage is One of the Earliest Rail road Depots Built in Alaska. It is an Historical Building built in 1940s which is evident when you first see it. There is Nothing else very special , except one of the Old Steam Locomotive parked outside of the station , just across the Road. It is a good... More

Nice plane to start your day trip up the Turnagain Arm. We had a large party for night dinner-trip. The depot was very accommodating with very friendly staff. There was a nice large tent with beer samples for us to try before boarding the train. They have a few model train displays and a gift shop inside too.

You can see and touch equipment from the beginning of railroading in Alaska. It is a must for the kids when in the area. The staff is friendly and willing to explain everything.

Nothing out of the average to share. They move people through well and there wasn't a lot of confusion.

We always try to take the train down to Seward right when they first open the season because the tourists haven't arrived yet. Parking could be a pain during busy time

We took a day trip to Whittier from this Depot. It was a very clean, but pretty small Depot. They had a little café inside for coffee, tea and little treats before your train ride. Our seats were not right, but the staff was so friendly and got us moved right away. Really great experience!
