This museum has a great collection of uniforms and artifacts covering Alaska's role in military actions dating back to the Civil War. I had the pleasure of meeting the founder / director of the museum who is a retired Air Force veteran along with volunteer gentleman. They shared background information on some of the displays. Well worth a visit.

This is a very nice museum with a lot of displays. It is a great tribute to our veterans. Love the model ship in the back.

A must see while visiting Anchorage the Alaska Veterans Museum is truly one of downtowns best kept secrets. Combine your experience with the Alaska Museum and the Trooper Museum - both within walking distance of the Veterans Museum. There are treasures in every corner and an added bonus is the first hand stories you may hear from the volunteer staff.... More

Interesting. Displays well done. Alot of personal memorabilia gave intimacy to the experience. Uses donations, no longer has grants to maintain.

This is a must do to see the contributions of Alaskan Veterans. There is a lot of veteran history from this area that is forgotten. If you are a WWII buff, you must go! Convenient in the downtown area.

Cool place to take a rest and check out law enforcement regalia from all over the world. They have some neat hats that people have donated from other countries.

The Alaska Veterans Museum is a great source of history and information on our country's veterans and the military engagements affecting Alaska and the surrounding region. Very informative and educational, but also very well done!

We enjoyed visiting this museum and seeing all the artifacts. Lots of things we didn't know about Alaska's place in World War II. The volunteers are very knowledgeable. Good place to spend a couple of hours in downtown Anchorage.

The docent was very knowledgeable. In addition to information on the Alaskan Veterans, he shared stories of hunting, fishing and preparing Reindeer sausages!
