Wonderful library

Beautifully designed public library, worth a visit! We could spend the entire day here enjoying the books, cafe and walking through the spiral staircase.

As a public space, the Seattle Central Library is a treat. Ride the illuminated escalator all the way up and take in the uses and design of each floor, the art, the research spaces, the reading lounges, the Books Spiral, and the incredible windows bringing the outside in everywhere. An important stop for architecture buffs and readers, both local and... More

We have wanted to check this library out as it always looked so cool driving by. We finally had the chance yesterday. Our 14 year old loved exploring every floor of the building, especially the 10th floor which was so high up and had a great view. The Friendshop inside the main entrance has lots of literary-themed gifts and also... More

I think that the library is well organized and help is plentiful and friendly. The services are amazing with holds left on shelves for you to pick up, you can extend the due date of your materials on line. It has great programs and is an exciting peice of Archetecture.

As I surfed the web for places to visit, I remember The Seattle Library was the one I never had time for on my last visit. This time I made it a priority as I love architectural monuments. About 10 floors to choose from with endless views and choices of reading. I come from Edmonton and thought our library was... More

Very cool looking from the outside. Could have more books since there is just SO MUCH SPACE inside. Definitely a must-see when you visit Seattle.

Visited this great public institution shortly after the completion of the revolutionary new building. Continue to visit the changing services it provides to locals and visitors alike. The emerging new technologies continue to be absorbed effortlessly without abandoning the traditional/professional staff presence/helpfulness on all floors. Congratulations to the city elders/officials for retaining helpful professional staff & maintaining the high professional... More

It was raining so we stopped in for my daughter to peruse the teen manga collection. We found an entire teen section of the library. The third floor was cozy with lots of seating, most of which was full at noon. Limited selection of popular magazines.

This is the one that has everything. Super helpful staff, great lectures, easy access to reference books, online systems and all the books that you'd love to read.
