How is it that Seattle has the money to build a breathtaking library - functional, thoughtful, beautiful - but not the money to deal with the homeless people who inhabit it? People who are sick, hungry, filthy, and in many cases, I'm sure, addicts. I'm not blaming the victims...but I am constantly surprised how we can find money for damn... More

It's free and such an interesting layout. Definitely worth stopping in to view the unique architecture and views.

This was located opposite our Downtown hotel, in Fourth Avenue, Seattle and we nearly didn't go in there. What a mistake that would have been! On our final day, waiting to travel back to the airport, we had some time to 'kill'. Yes, like any library, it has many many books but much more. Its design, both externally and internally,... More

Not only is this building in the middle of downtown, making it almost impossible to miss but it's also a great, free place to take a break, go to the bathroom, and tour around. The red floor is probably my favorite but the whole thing is a must see. It doesn't require a lot of time but probably everyone (kids... More

I actually went to this library because a food truck I wanted to visit was supposed to be there. They actually didn't show, which was very disappointing since I walked all the way there for the truck. But in walking around the building I was noticing the architecture and mere size of it! I didn't go in because it didn't... More

Had to do a family ancestrial search and was recommended to go to the Seattle Public Library. The staff were not that friendly but I managed to get the information I needed.

One of the more recognizable buildings in Seattle, this is the largest and busiest of the King County libraries. It's worth a visit even if you aren't there for the books; there is a gift shop and coffee shop in addition to plenty of seating. You need a king county library card to check out any books but you can... More

Unique building. Need to go inside and walk around! Even just 15 minutes to take in all the designs.
