This is a hidden gem. The history, the views, the cocktails. The outside balcony that wraps around the top has unparalleled views. Dont bring your kids here, it would ruin the atmosphere.

Thank you for the wonderful review! We definitely are glad that you enjoyed the amazing views, the cocktails, and the terrific Smith Tower history. We certainly encourage a lounge experience and we are also very kid-friendly as well. We have ice cream cones and shakes in our Observatory check-in downstairs. All my best, Woody Braden More

You feel the richness and elegance of the early boom years of the city. Having an actual elevator operator takes you back to the time the building was built. The lounge in the observatory floor is very relaxing. All authentic and historically significant. Great views of the old town Seattle and Pioneer Square. Well worth the tour price.

We bought the tickets and took the gilded elevator up to the observatory. It was a great experience as we (my family and I) love history and we learned a lot about the building from the elevator manager. The Deck itself gives a brilliant persepctive of Seattle, very different from Columbia Centre which is a bit too high up to... More

This tourist stop will likely not take more than 1/2 hour but it's well worth a stop. That elevator is incredible. If you are unmarried, sit in the wishing chair and take a selfie.

This is such a different and better experience than the Space Needle. You basically get the same view as the Space Needle but with out the crowds and you get fantastic bar where you can enjoy a glass of wine while looking out over the city! Loved it!

I've lived in Seattle for years, and never been to the top of Smith Tower. I took my kids up on an unpromising day and it was a blast! Although it's not as tall as the attractions in town, it still offers fantastic views of the city, mountains, and Sound. And the updated Chinese Room is wonderful. Lovely spot to... More

I visited Smith Tower on one of Seattle's rare sunny days an I was not disappointed! Walking around downtown Seattle was a bit overwhelming for this mid-west farm girl with all the people and skyscrapers, but walking into Smith Tower was a breath of fresh air. At first it was a little confusing where to go because the main entrance... More

This was recommended by a tour guide as a cheaper way of seeing city instead of from the Needle. It was like walking back in time the old lift to the 35th floor is stunning and you can walk round the observation area with ease. There is also a charming bar area where you can have a drink the staff... More

People rightly want to head to the top of the Space Needle. It's the iconic anchor to Seattle's skyline. It's funky, it's retro-chic, it's uniquely Seattle. It can be expensive and, more importantly, the reservations for desirable "launch times" can sell out quickly - leaving you with a less desirable/convenient reservation time. Not to worry. The Smith Tower awaits. By... More
