llent performances, from original productions to longtime-favorite musicals, in an architecturally beautiful space. Last live performance I saw there was in February or March 2020, before COVID (drop down menu doesn't offer that timeframe as a choice, so mentioning it here), and the production was creative, well-acted, well-sung, well-choreographed, and thought-provoking.

Ms. Doubtfire was over the top amazing, and I hear may be moving on the Broadway Sondheim theatre...woohoo.
There were so many amazing singers and the lead male was so talented - couldn't decide who stole the show! Don't miss Sister Act starting there soon.

I've seen a few shows at the 5th Avenue Theatre and it's one of my favourite theatres. Most recently, I saw Mrs. Doubtfire at the end of it's run in December 2019. By that time, it was announced the show would transfer to Broadway in 2020. Mrs. Doubtfire was a hilarious show, ready for Broadway.
The design of the theatre is extraordinary with ornate Chinese style. Make sure to look up at the ceiling inside the theatre with stunning intricate design and a dragon. The sight-lines and sound are very good when watching shows. The orchestra is very deep so I would recommend sitting not too far back.
Absolutely the most beautiful theatre I've been to and love going back!

This is our second performance at 5th Ave theater. This time, we took our 2 teenage sons to Mrs. Doubtfire. The Asian themed interior is so nice. The only complaint from my wife is that the mens' washroom is ground level, while the ladies' is 2 flights of stairs. This makes it very difficult for women especially wearing heels.
Wonderful performance of Mrs. Doubtfire. Enjoyable and super energetic. However, I do prefer the performance of Annie last year.

We were just there to see Mrs. Doubtfire, which was a fantastic but new adaptation of the movie. We sat way up in the balcony, but that was fine, great view, perfect climate control, and great overall ambience.

I saw Austin's Pride and enjoyed it. It was pretty silly. We had good seats and the theater is beautiful. All of the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. A great experience.

We had never been to the theater and were very pleased! The architecture of the building is beautiful and stunning. The sound is gorgeous. Our seats were in the back, but the sound was still phenomenal. We went to see Mrs Doubtfire which was outstanding! That is a must see while it is in Seattle. I will say the seats are a little uncomfortable and I noticed a lady behind us with a seat cushion so it is a known issue of those that regularly attend.

The theatre was built in 1926 using decrative arts from several buildings in the. forbidden city. The interior is just stunning and one of this city's real treasures.

Went to see Austen's Pride with a friend. I'm a huge fan of Austen's work especially Pride and Prejudice. I've seen the movies and read the book several times. I was skeptical on how the musical would turn out and was pleasantly surprised. Loved the scenery; the singing and music was phenomenal. This was my first time at the 5th Avenue Theater and it's quite the gem. Will come back to visit! And a little tip: Try parking in the garages after 5 pm to get their evening rate, or else you'll get charged for a full day.

Looks like you received your answer, but just a tip... If you are on the mailing list for the theater, you will often receive discounted ticket offers as show dates draw nearer :)

Hi Deborah! We will have our production of Disney's The Little Mermaid running during that time. In fact, we just released some previously available seats for the matinee on November 26, if that might work for you! Tickets are QUICKLY selling out for those dates, though, so you'd want to get them as soon as possible. They range in price from $36 to $180, depending on where you would like to sit. You can find more information on our website, or you can call our box office at 206.625.1900.

Any recommendations on seat selection? Are there seats to avoid?

Lower level seating is the best, the upper level seats are a bit steep and the stairs are modern and well lit. My wife has walking issues(she needs a cane). I have been seated all over the venue and the view is always good and the sound system is top shelf.
Photograpy policy?
Stephen M
Seattle, WA24 contributions
You cannot legally take pictures of anything related to the performance -- set, stage, curtains, scrim, decorations, and so on -- and you may not take pictures/recordings during a performance. These are copyrighted elements and productions. And frankly, taking pictures, beyond being illegal due to breaking copyright, is discourteous to your fellow audience members. You should be there to watch the show, not to take pictures of the show and remove yourself from the event. If you want a photo, you can usually purchase an album at the concierge of professional, authorized photos of the show. Everything about the show is entertainment that is provided to you because you pay a ticket or buy merchandise; the money is used to fund the theatre, the performers, and the staff. It's not done for free, and if you want something as a memory, you can usually get what you want through authorized materials.
I'm not trying to play the bad guy here; I've gone to the 5th Avenue (and other venues) for decades; I also have close friends and family members who participate in these productions, on stage, behind the scenes, and in the orchestral pits. I love the theatre, and I love the experience, and I recognize that the entire event is the production.
Not taking pictures without permission, and paying for authorized photos, is in my opinion the right way to collect stuff for memories.
Enjoy the moment for what it is. Be there, in the theatre, and wait until afterwards to collect your keepsakes.
The theatre itself may have other restrictions upon photographs of the lobby or other features outside the performance hall.
What is the policy on photography in this venue?
walterofnewwest
New Westminster, Canada32 contributions
Policy as with most live performance venues is that you are not allowed to photograph or video while the production is on. At some shows they will announce , the end of the show , as the Entertainers are coming out for the applause that photos may then be taken .

How difficult is the walk from the Bremerton Ferry to the theatre and back. Any suggestions on a route and the amount of time required?
