Perfect location to have a panoramic view of harbor, cruise, Ferris wheels, and background mountains in a distance. It’s right opposite Pike market so an easy visit. But it’s small and sometimes not the cleanest.

In exploring the City, this park is essentially adjacent to the world famous Seattle Market. There are nice views from the park, but dissappointing to see so many homeless. However, Seattle overall seems to be a City with a massive homeless problem. It's an active area, but I wouldn't suggest this as any sort of family place. It's small and you will get experience the local homeless asking you for money and such while you're there.

On a sunny day, you can see the Olympic Mountains, Puget Sound, Blake Island, Harbor Island, the Seattle Waterfront, the Pike Place Market, ferries, sailboats and much more. The views are spectacular and there are always a large cross section of the worlds population from Asian tourist to locals suits eating lunch and from someone protesting something to the regular group of drunk indigenous people who are either sleeping, carving totems or just shooting the breeze. Not many places better to people watch in the greater Seattle area.

Too bad the city doesn't adequately staff this park so that the vagrants don't take away the experience for others. This used to be a great place to enjoy lunch and a view. I was amazed to walk into the park with our lunch to find people dealing, smoking out of bongs, and begging for money. I felt bad for the people walking through with their children only to realize this place is one big $#!+hole. Plus, their children were probably getting contact highs. It was disgusting.

Walking downtown on my first day at sunset I looked over and saw this beautiful patch of green down the hill. I had to go. It's a small Park just outside pike place market and overlooks the waterfront. Nice spot to take photos, rest your feet and take in all the enjoyment seattle dispenses 😉

We were told that this park would be a nice place to bring our take out lunch from Pike Market by our tour guide. So after our tour we grabbed lunch from Beecher's Handmade Cheese and headed over there. HUGE mistake! While the views are spectacular we quickly lost our appetite with the STRONG stench of rotting urine and feces! It was AWFUL! There were MANY HOMELESS and strung out junkies loitering around, dancing around to music only they can hear! VERY sad that they haven't cleaned this spot up so visitors and locals alike could enjoy the beautiful views!

Down by the waterfront in an area surrounded with tourists at the Public Market, this park is beautiful and situated for some of the best sunsets in Seattle. The sad thing is that it's overrun with homeless, vagrant, drunk/stoned, and generally "down-and-outers" who will call to you, beg for money, and comment on your appearance. Sad, sad, sad. Some of the best views of Mt. Rainier are had from here but it feels totally unsafe to go check it out. I found a spot near a policeman before I took out my camera and took a shot. Seattle, come on! I know you are kindly to all kinds of people but scaring tourists away is NOT what you want to do. I would NEVER bring a child to that area.

My parents came to visit from Florida yesterday and wanted to go to Pikes Place Market. We spent quite a few hours shopping then decided to take food over to the park and enjoy the view. This was a large mistake since there were so many homeless there. We thought no problem we can sit at one of the park tables and eat. Moments later a fight broke out between 2 stoned or drunk homeless men. Needless to say I was embarrassed. To make matters even worse, when the police came they said fighting is not against the law and they would do nothing but keep them from fighting even more. This park is too nice to allow all these vagrants to hang around and eyeball, spit, smoke dope, yell obscenities, fight, beg and lay around waisting space especially at a location which is supposed to be a tourist destination. All my friends say never to go there and I was stupid to take my parents there. I agreed and what a shame. Seattle needs to fix this problem and quit letting homeless vagrants ruin these parks.

We thought it would be a nice place to view Elliott Bay and enjoy a snack from Pike's Market. Sadly the park was home to many apparent homeless men and women who were sleeping on the grassy spots. More concerning were those drinking openly, breaking open bottles of liquor with security lids, loudly yelling profanities, and relieving themselves in the corners and wastebaskets. I stopped several families with children and suggested they not come I to the area. I was surprised there was no security presence so close to a public tourism site.

We passed by this park for 4 consecutive days while on our way to the public market. They have a totem pole and some other public art which are interesting. The view of the water and the lawn were really nice. Depending on when you are there, there is a mix of homeless and (likely) drug addicts hanging around. Nobody bothered us or asked for money but we did feel uncomfortable and limited our time there. However, on a Saturday when the weather was beautiful the place was pretty packed with all sort of folks there so we sat down on the grass and had a little snack for probably 20 minutes just hanging out and it felt wonderful and safe. We did smell marijuana every time we passed the area. As a side note, in 4 days of visiting the area every day for more than 5 hours each day, we did not see any police anywhere in this area or the market even just sort of keeping an eye on things or there to respond if something broke out. I think the City should step it up on that.
