I, recently, took my son to see "Shen Yun" at McCaw Hall. The only reason I didn't give this venue an excellent score is because of the parking lot across the street. I paid $20 to park for 2 1/2 hours. Maybe I'm cheap but, that seemed like a lot to me. Plus, It took us 30 minutes to exit... More

We came here for a Shen Yun show. Parking across the street was easy and reasonable at $15 and a sky bridge to the opera house. Very convenient. Before we went to the show, we tried out the Henry's Taiwanese restaurant. The place was cozy, clean and had good food. We'll come back there again when we are in the... More

Traviata is one of my all-time favorites. My family was really looking forward to this performance as I have been talking about it for at least five months. We dressed up, and arrived in high anticipation of excellent music and true magic of Verdi's talent. Oh, my, what a perversion Seattle Opera made of this excellent piece - Verdi was... More

Having never been to the opera and not knowing what to expect, we asked where the best place to sit was. We were told that the balcony above the glass would give the best sound. The talent was awesome, but being so far up, we missed out on the detail of the stage and the expressions, makeup and costumes of... More

Hearing that the Hansel & Gretel production was outstanding, I took a chance to buy a ticket less than an hour before performance on a Friday night. Pulled into the Opera House Garage, and at the box office asked if a RUSH ticket for seniors (beginning 2 hrs. before performance) was available, saying I'd like a seat close up. Only... More

Perfect for that special occasion or special night out! Unforgettable, great set ups, digital text in English, can get a bit to eat or a glass of wine during the half hour break. Really just a great night out! Enjoy!

During the lull in San Francisco's cultural scene, I went to see the Comte Ory by Rossini. The performance, staging, singers and the hall were all better than expected. The whole night was effortless and entertaining.

I have loved attending Seattle Opera since my father first let me attend school performances as a child. To further encourage my interest, he purchased an adult book that told the background stories of the various operas. I have always loved how the pure beauty of the voice could transform the various performers into Kings, queens, lovers, invented, etc. The... More
