Department stores rarely inspire popular frenzy, but for Seattleites, Nordstrom is hardly an average department store. On opening day, crowds waiting to get in literally cheered and pumped their fists.

This is the original Nordstrom! It's absolutely beautifully redone! I popped in for a $2.50 shoe shine, which is unheard of in this day and age! You can't go wrong! The shoe shine has been here since 1974, run by the same family ever since! Brent Perkins comes the original family. Stop by! Chan did a marvelous job on my... More

It's terrible to say that the flagship Nordstrom can not exceed 1/5, but that has been my experience on more than one recent visit. Staff is highly unlikely to approach you to see if you require assistance. When you ask a question, the response is borderline hostile, let alone rude. I took advantage of the restaurant and the service was... More

Despite a slow rainy day, I was treated like a VIP when browsing this weekend. The employees are top notch, and I ended up buying something great, on sale. We can't do everything on Amazon, so this restored my faith in retail stores, and going to a downtown mall

Quality of clothing has gone downhill. Items in junior department had threads hanging loose and very cheaply made sweaters and tops. Clothes were very wrinkled and not appealing. What happened to Nordstroms? Mostly shop online for girl's school clothing but now easier to just continue to shop online without sales person's attitude, especially in cosmetic department. Needed shoes and the... More

My trip to the flagship store was my first at Nordstrom. It was lovely with some very high end retail. It was so nice in fact that I was a little let down by every other Nordstrom I've been to since!

I was prepared to dump a bunch of cash today, but was basically ignored. I know it was busy with holiday shoppers, but sales people in the formal section and women's department were chatting and did not greet shoppers... service in the bar was horrible as well. I waited to check out... empty plate with my credit card on the... More

The Flagship Store of the Nordstrom chain. If you want to see how service is supposed to be conducted at a Nordstrom, visit this store. The employees are role models of the store's culture of customer service first. You will find many things you won't find at other area Nordstroms. Lots of upscale lines here. The coffee bar and other... More

A very large and usually busy downtown department store with plenty to choose from for everyone. The staff is helpful and nice as well. You can eat lunch here as well when you go shopping and it is on the bus lines and the light rail.

This is a good place to shop, even for someone who doesn't like to shop. Easy to find what you need and go. Friendly staff. The highlight is listening to Joseph Rojo play the piano!
