SAM has been the center for world-class visual arts in the Pacific Northwest since 1933. Visit SAM to see a museum carved into the city, as much a part of Seattle's landscape and personality as the coffee, rain, mountains, Pike Place Market, and the Space Needle. Our three distinct locations celebrate the region's position as a crossroads where east meets west, urban meets natural, local meets global. Our collections, installations, special exhibitions, and programs feature art from around the world and build bridges between cultures and centuries.

has decent collection for while away an hour or two! Standing collection is ok with some American classics like Pollock & Jasper Johns, plus limited number of European master. Good travelling exhibits that are worth checking out to see whats on

I visited especially to view the Wyeth exhibit, but also enjoyed the other collections. The site is convenient, the entry fees are reasonable, and the curation well done.

Knew of Andrew Wyeth but not not experienced his work first hand. A truly amazing artist who captured his scenes and people! If you can go, you should.

We came to Seattle specifically to see their Andrew Wyeth exhibit, on through mid-January 2108. Thank you for curating this in cooperation with the Brandywine Museum. A once in a lifetime experience.

The Andrew Wyeth exhibit is particularly interesting. Although unfamiliar with his work until today, am now a great admirer! Multiple items / galleries are also of great interest: the porcelain gallery, the African collection, and European works. Highly recommend.

The SAM has no clear direction or concept. A little bit of this, a little bit of that ... Yeah, I saw some nice things, but it was just too confused and no clear line behind it. The SAM is a Blue Star Museum, which...More

We only had an hour, 90 minutes would have been less of a rush. Two hours would have been too much.

Hi Lee: Great question! Senior rates are $17.95 for guests 62 and over and on the first Friday of each month seniors are free to our collection and special exhibitions are half price. We hope you come visit SAM soon.
