    Lower Reid Falls
We were originally scheduled for the Ocean Raft Adventure, but it cancelled due to inclement weather. I'm actually glad it did. My husband and I spent the day instead hiking through Skagway on our way to Lower Reid Falls. We entered an ancient cemetery that, to me, was a unique photography opportunity. Towards the back of the cemetery we picked up the trail leading to the falls. I love hiking through wooded areas anyway, but this was a special treat. The falls did not disappoint. As an added bonus, this excursion didn't cost us a cent. Our visit was six years ago. The date of March '22 is inaccurate, but it wouldn't let me choose the correct date.

How to see Reid Falls without an excursion
We walked to the falls from the cruise port. It was a 2 mile trip (4 round trip) that is mainly flat to the base of the falls. At the base, is an old mining cemetery with some cool history written on a large plaque right before you enter. There are signs to help you easily find the falls from the cemetery. It is a fairly easy uphill walk to the falls, but there is a bench along the way if you need a break it is very short (less than 1/4 of a mile). The falls are beautiful but can get really crowded as the tour buses arrive. We got there at the same time as a tour bus and just waited around for them to leave so we could get some decent pictures without tons of people unknowingly photobombing the background. On the return home, we went one block over to walk through the old downtown area. Feels kind of wild west with about 20-25 jewelry stores, restaurants, and souvenir shops. We took about 4 hours total to see the falls and walk through old town. We had time so we did the Yukatania point trail afterwards. It was pretty, but not as cool as the falls; if you can only pick one, pick Reid falls.

    BREATHTAKING falls/rapids
Tucked away at least 2 miles from town and above the old cemetery is this beautiful breathtaking place of tranquility. My 2nd time in many years going back but just as stunning as the 1st time. Little tricky to walk amongst the rocks and tree Vines but well worth the trip from town, either by $5 shuttle or lengthy walk next to the train tracks. Highly recommend

Nice easy hike. Beautiful falls. No cruise ships were in town so it was not crowed! The cemetery was close by so I had a chance to see that as well

This waterfall is tucked away just our of the town. It's a great place for a photo op. A short hike up the trail gets you to the waterfall.

Up past the cemetery is the beautiful falls. Be prepared, it is an uphill hike to you, but totally worth it, if you can make it..

These falls are a short walk from the Gold Rush cemetery. They are absolutely beautiful. They are the best waterfall that we could get close enough to take a picture of in all of Alaska.

Access to the waterfalls is a 10-15 minute hike through the forest after walking through the Gold Rush Cemetery. The path is marked but is not prepared in any manner. The ground is uneven and uphill and not for anyone with mobility issues. The path is narrow and you may be held up if there are large tour groups moving through.

There is nothing particularly exciting about the waterfalls but the landscape is accessible for taking selfies and group photos.

Although it’s easily accessible from the cruise port, probably a good 30 min walk, the climb up isn’t easy for those with disabilities.
After passing the small Gold miners cemetery the waterfall is found gushing down towards the ocean. Set amongst a forest it’s a nice to spend a short time at

Lovely , nature at it's best, unspoiled and an easy walk up from the road side. It is a little hidden away so you don't see it till up are upon it but you hear the water running first. We did this as part of a touring was very pleased we did. Lovely spot to rest a while.
