Park is small but very nice and well maintained, my grandson loves it. It's in a safe area downtown and fairly easy to get to providing you do not have to wait on a long train.

This is a great community park for families, history buffs, and train fans to explore. We enjoy walking through the park a couple of times a year, to see the wonderful displays and get fresh air. Located directly across the street from the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History, the Kennesaw Depot Park includes the restored railroad depot, a fenced playground, a beautiful walkway around a small amphitheater lined with paintings portraying the events of the great locomotive chase, and a pedestrian tunnel under the very active railroad tracks. Nearby (across the tracks from the museum), there is also a beautiful tree covered park with benches to sit and just watch the world go by, and monuments to fallen soldiers, a 911 monument, and historic markers. If you are visiting the museum, you definitely want to visit the paintings of the Great Locomotive Chase at the amphitheater. If you have youngsters, the playground is great for running off energy.
