The museum is on the first floor of the library. The video interviews about the 1964 tsunami were really informative and it was interesting to hear the people's personal memories. There was also some memorabilia from the early Iditarod races, which was fun to see....More

Enjoyed seeing and reading about the history of Seward. You can spend as much as three hours here if you want to peruse through their history books. Comfortable place, good value.

A wonderfully arranged museum gives an overview of the history of the town. Talks also take place and the staff are lovely.

interesting history of the town and especially details of the earthquake which devastated the town. movie at the library is not about the earth quake, it is about the dog sledding. enjoyed that as well.

My husband and I recently visited the museum in Seward, Alaska. We found the displays to be interesting and nicely done. The highlight, though was watching the multiple, short videos made by the survivors of the 1964 earthquake and tsunami. Since they were told from...More

It's a 1/10 of a mile walk from the Edgewater to the museum. My map program says 2 minutes. I don't know if you can prepay for the museum, but can't imagine why you'd want to.
