We are two mushers - Travis Beals & Sarah Stokey - who share a passion for dog sledding, the Iditarod sled dog race, & story telling. Come meet our dogs, play with our puppies, and learn a little bit about Alaska's state sport before going for a fun dog sled ride. Our tours are kept small, customized to your groups needs, and are very hands on. We look forward to meeting you!

While planning our Alaska honeymoon, one “must do” for both of us as dog lovers was getting a chance to dogsled. We quickly found out about the glacier option to actually get to sled on the snow/ice even in summer. With our trip happening over the week of Labor Day, we actually found that many of the dogsled tours stopped... More

We spent a month in Alaska and have to say this really was one of the highlights! Yes, we were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day so of course that made the experience fantastic. Great friendly treatment from staff in the office. Brandon, the pilot, was excellent as was Justin, the musher. We were so lucky to have the... More

We had a great time at Turning Head Kennel. Because we were the only people there, we had a private experience! We did several runs with the dog sled, met the dogs, the puppies... The tour was fun, informative and gave a good perceptive of the dogs and the race.

If you have the opportunity to do a helicopter ride to the glacier with dog sledding through Turning Heads Kennel do not pass it up! We were originally scheduled to do a similar tour in Juneau and it was canceled due to weather. We were so disappointed, but I decided to look for a place in Seward or Anchorage as... More

Our most highly anticipated excursion on our vacation to Alaska was a similar helicopter trip and dog sledding on a glacier. We were extremely disappointed when that trip was cancelled due to weather, while we were in Juneau. We took a chance and booked this excursion while we were in Seward and it was incredible! The helicopter pilot was great... More

We booked this tour when our original flight-seeing and glacier landing tour was cancelled twice due to weather while we visited Denali. We wanted to experience a glacier landing during our vacation and booked this tour last minute after seeing the great reviews. This was an AMAZING experience from start to end. Everyone we encountered during this tour was top... More

Helicopter ride to the top of the glacier, dog sled ride through the snow, helicopter ride back to our car. Fantastic day. Everyone was great: office lady, helicopter pilot, both mushers, and the dogs. Hugging the puppies was also fun. Best day in Alaska.

We were looking for our "WOW" Alaska experience after our cruise ended, as our main excursion on the cruise had been cancelled due to fog. After talking to Amy, of Turning Heads Kennel, in the cruise terminal, we decided to book a Summer Glacier Dogsled Tour for our family of 4 (2 young adult daughters). The entire experience was definitely... More

This is the second time I have had the experience with this kennel. They are amazing. Being able to have the experience of riding a real dog sled in the middle of the summer on a glacier is fantastic. Can't beat the helicopter ride up to where they are. These people do a great job and their dogs are beautiful... More

We happened to see a stall at the cruise terminal in Seward selling the tour and ride. The lady selling the tour was really helpful and even gave us a lift to the centre of the town as we had a lot of time before the tour started. She then picked us up and took us to the kennels, even... More
