This beach was recommended to us by taxi driver and it's maybe 45 min from kona.beach is really nice and colours of ocean is blue/green.probably the best beach on big island.it's wild beach with no bars or restaurants and it's not commercialized and that's why I love it.one thing though, bring sunscreen protection becouse there is no trees and sun... Clear, warm water, perfect for swimming and boogie boarding. Undertow and waves can get pretty rough, so be mindful of the ocean! A great place for a picnic and hanging out for a day.

Our favorite beach! Can be dicey on a windy day but wonderful floating, bring your noodles!, and shower facilities.

Having lived in Southern California for most of my life and growing up going to Huntington and Newport Beaches, I like to think I have enjoyed some incredible beaches. But Kua Beach is very special! Having been here many times I am always surprised at how the size of the beach changes based on the time of the year. Sometimes... More

Did some body surfing here and really enjoyed it, tide was up with an off shore wind so the waves were excellent, beach has nice sand and lots of space. One of my favorite places to body surf, not really great for snorkeling but lots of turtles.

Never though that water in pacific ocean can be that warm and clean! The sand is so fine and soft! Strong waves, great for boogie boarding or body surfing, we're just swimming and had tons of fun! It's pretty small and gets filled in quickly, it's better to come early.

After many trips to the Big Island I had never been to this beach and went having received an e mail from TripAdvisor touting it as a great beach. I was very satisfied with the beach and all of the previous reviews were right on. The water was clear and a beautiful turquoise color, the sand was powdery soft (white),... More

Love Kua Bay! Pristine water, soft white sand, and beautiful scenery all around...can't ask for much more. Perfect beach spot if you have an umbrella since there is no shade. Pack a lunch, a good book, snorkel gear, and an umbrella for a perfect day in Hawaii!

Spent an amazing day with our kids. The beach is pristine, small and crowdy, but fun begins the moment you get into the water!!! My kids (8 & 10 YO) had a blast!!!!!!! If you have kids, you have to go for sure!!!!
