We were on a cruise and had some time in port after an excursion. We walked around Kona and stopped by on a Wednesday. We just wanted to see what was here. I am not a big souvenir buyer. There was one vendor that sold...More

We found plenty of trinkets here, but the majority are mass produced so you'll find the same items at many stands - comparison shop before you buy! Don't mistake the handcrafted items as being overpriced; they are art and should be priced as such. The...More

This is where you want to go to pick up fresh produce! Very reasonable prices of Mac nuts, coffee, pineapples, mangos, and so many other fruits and vegetables. Lots of chachkies if you’re looking for trinkety souvenirs.

This farmers market consists of tents with various vendors selling produce and souvenirs in a parking lot off of Alii Drive. It is not huge, but it is a free alternative to the shops on Alii Drive. Parking and traffic is a problem, but there...More

We stopped here as we walked around downtown Kona. They have a ton of fresh produce, flowers and Hawaiian trinkets. Some places take card, but mostly cash. Parking in the adjacent lot is pricey, $8.35 / hour, but up the street is a public lot...More

We visited on a Friday morning around 8:30 and only a handful of stands were open. Nothing too exciting but was neat to wander and look at the fruits and goods.

I believe seeing a local market at any travel destination is a must. This market definitely did not only have produce, but rather a wide selection of things you would find at a typical market, to include clothes and tons of souvenirs. To my surprise,...More

Loved this market last year. However, this year after visiting Hilo's Farmers Market this one was a bit dissappointing. The produce vendors are outnumbered by the run of the mill "craft" vendors. There a a few vendors that do sell art/crafts from the area and...More

Booths/stands display locally grown produce, local hand-made arts and crafts as well as imported goods. Some of the items are overpriced. Whether you’re shopping for souvenirs or gifts or just want to browse, the market is a worthwhile experience in an outdoor setting right in...More

Fairly tightly packed, so good if the weather isn't cooperating. Half a dozen Vegetable/fruit vendors with good stock, including multiple varieties of Avocado & Mango, local & imported depending on the season. In addition there are the usual crafts, jewelry and a couple of clothing outlets...More
