Highlight of our trip to Hawaii. We loved going here. Can't wait to go back someday. We took the plane ride down to the Peninsula. It was well worth it.

Best to go to topside museum and overlook first. We took the fly in fly out tour. The flying views on the short flight were spectacular. Try for a sunny day. The arranged tour was excellent, including Hawaiian songs and chants. Very sad but immensely...More

This is a must see experience! The mule ride is quite bumpy as there are 26 turns, all downhill but it is the steps they have put in for the hikers that make the ride not so comfy. However, very rich in history. Unfortunately, you...More

We bought a permit at Hotel Molokai and were told to find our "sponsor" resident (who was called and expecting us) once we got into town. The hike both ways was wet, slippery, and difficult (even though we are in shape). Once in the town,...More

This beautiful, isolate peninsula holds a dark history. Beginning in the mid-1800's sufferers of Hansen's disease (leprosy) who were mostly Hawaiian were banished to this natural prison. A few of the residents remain in the colony today. The park tells their stories of struggle and...More

Kalaupapa is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen; however, the tour was a disappointment. The tour was much shorter than I expected and the stops were limited. We were expecting the tour to last most of the day and to see...More
