As keen bird watchers we had this ornithological reserve on our bucket list while visiting Croatia and unfortunately went away very disappointed.
First up on arrival the staff were more intent on getting your 5 euro pp and when I asked for a map and a bird list was told they didn’t have any.
We visit parks all over the world however this one didnt come up to scratch with what we read about it. The boardwalks and small hides are not far off being decommissioned and there’s been no apparent maintenance of the facilities for a long time. Poorly maintained car park and a single hire toilet for the many people that visit.
We understand birding is problematic given season, day etc but we observed very few birds during our visit.
I would not go out of your way to visit this reserve.

The Park itself is worth a visit. The view point at Kamejak is stunning albeit you need navigation to get there. They charge u for each visit to each of three sites !!! So keep your tickets. The boat trip is exactly that, no commentary , no audio exceedingly disappointing

We just returned from a wonderful visit to Zadar. While driving to viewpoint at Vidikovac we kept seeing memorial crosses along the final road. Can someone tell us what they commemorate. They were somber and haunting, but no plaques described what they memorialize.

We came here because we had a day to do something else. The national park costs 20 kuna pp and you get a handy map of the park itself. We drove to one parking and you can hike around the lake or bike around it. It was too long for us to hike around so we only walked a little. Great for bird watching, fishing, hiking and biking. Lots of nature around the lake. The highlight is when you drive to Kamenjak viewpoint. Theres a church there and a cafe with toilet. You can view the whole lake, the ridge, the islands near Mutur, the Konati national park and even the mountains of Italy in the far distance. An amazing view and definitely worth a visit here. They also have 2 viewpoints with 2 telescopes to see into the distance. Lots of picknick tables to enjoy your own food. I woukd recommend this place to anyone near this area.

Road the dedicated bike path around the lake, a 50KM ride. Beautiful views, and side trials that take you to the waters edge. Mountain bikes are definitively required, the track gets quite rough in places, a hybrid would likely blow its tires quickly. Unfortunately, rental bike options in the surrounding area are very limited, we struggled to find suitable bikes to rent. But if you brought your own, it's worth the ride.

If there is one perfect view point on Adriatic sea then it is the one in this Nature park.
It offers view on areas of 3 Nature parks and 3 National parks. Offcourse you will not see them detailly but the view will tell you all about it. Try to Google and which ones I'm talking about and go see Kamenjak, view point on top of the hill above Vransko lake.

There are 3 spots around the lake included in the Vransko Jezero National Park.
Entry for all the spots is 20kn.
First spot on the western bank is a observatory for birds spotting.
The view of the lake is great too.
Second spot is uphill at the end of a small narrow road. It ends up on a awesome striking view of the lake, the sea and the islands beyond.
The third spot is a place to go swimming - we couldn't visit it that time.

For a short view, you must pay and the weather was not so good. I think it is recommend to go when it is a very clear day.

Very hard to find the entrance(s) but once You there You won't regret. Entry fee is 20Kn valid for all the entry points for the same day.

Not very propagated nature park. There is ornithological park with some observatories (some are newer, some are older) to watch birds. There is also possibility swim in lake (water is clear) or take boat. In this lake living freshwater and marine animals together.
We took bike from Biograd na Moru. There are three bike tracks with different distance. The tracks are partly on asphalt-roads (not frequent) and partly on dirt-roads. Another possibility is by car or foot from Pakoštane, but lake is relative big, so this is not preferred way to visit it.

De fietstocht (50 km) rondom het meer lijkt mij gaaf om te doen! Ik ben wel gewend te fietsen, maar geen mountainbiker en ook niet in de heuvels. Is dit dan wel goed te doen?
