We had only a short time, and so the Ranger at the Visitor Center suggested four stops. We had time for only two. We took the time for the ~1 mile loop at Hidden Valley, and then we enjoyed the southern view from Keys lookout.

One can experience Joshua Tree without even leaving the comfort of the car. Not that you should. A number of easy trails to walk with a minimum of elevation change. Note that the visitor center ( in the town of Joshua Tree) is located about...More

This place is about 43 miles from palm springs but well worth the visit. If you have a national park visitors pass don't forget it as I did or you pay $25 to enter. The Visitor Center was staffed by park service employees and very...More

Another day, another hike! Joshua Tree National Park moved from the list of “Someday We Should Go There” to one of our favorite national parks. The high desert environment and rock formations are beautiful. There are so many trails and they are well-marked and well-maintained....More

Camped at Ryan Campground with some buddies. Arrive early to get a spot or just ask people when they’re leaving and go hike or climb in the meantime. Great weather for both - mid 70’s in the day but you’re in the high desert so...More

We were going to do a quick drive through but decided to book a hotel and did two days. Really cool park and so happy I finally came here.

Spent 2 days here the entrance fee allows 7 days entrace). Should have reserved more time for the visit as taking the trails requires time and during peak month you might end up queuing for the parking space at the stsrting points.

JTNP covers two desert regions, the Mojave and the Colorado. It's become a very popular tourist attraction due to it's stunning natural beauty.

Wonderful rangers and facilities in the park. We drove most of the park roads and the scenery was magnificent. We visited on Sunday and it was not crowded at all.

Not all the camping areas have bathrooms and showers - Black Rock does. You'll need tent and sleeping bags. It gets cold overnight and this IS the rainy season. That doesn't mean rain every day but it does mean when it... More

Honestly that would be a very long day because you have to account for LA traffic even though it's only 140 miles to the Park from LA . I guess it's doable if you leave early. We used all 3 entrances I preferred the... More
